Biological control of mosquito larvae using Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (BT). Product of Summit Chemical in USA. The BT active ingredient in the BITS is 2.86%; inactive ingredients are 97.14%. The BITS slowly sink through the water container and slowly release the BT larvicide up to 14 days, killing the mosquito larvae within 24 hours. Repeat treatment may be done between 7 and 14 days as needed. The BITS may be use for any livestock water container including those used for cattle, horses, domestic pets, bird baths, and other animals.
Sprinkle the BITS into the water at the rate of one teaspoon per 25 square feet of water surface (such as a 5 foot diameter round tank). Complete instructions are provided on the container.
Do not use the BITS in any water source used for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children. Wash hands after handling the BITS and store unused BITS in their original container. |
