Summary of Our Stallion Service Agreement
You need to pay a "Booking Fee" for Stallion service via either on-site Natural Service at Running Arrow Farm (or) a Cooled semen collection and shipment, so we can schedule our Stallion's service schedule. Your Booking Fee will be applied against your Stud Fee. For frozen semen (since we have this in Nitrogen tank storage), you do not need to pay the $100 booking fee: Just order the frozen semen and send your check or buy online at Semen page in our store. If you are just paying the Booking Fee you may also go to Booking Fee and pay the $100 online.
The following is a summary of the major points contained in our on-site STALLION SERVICE AGREEMENT. A detailed Agreement document is available for your review on request. To obtain a copy of this Agreement, you may E-Mail us to request a copy via either an Adobe PDF file document (or) a hard-copy mailed to you via the USPS.
We have TWO separate Agreement Forms:
[1] On-Site Stallion Service at Running Arrow Farm
[2] Cooled or Frozen Semen Shipment
These requirements are for the protection of your Mare(s), our Stallion(s), and any people involved. As a customer, you are advised to carry your own health and mortality Equine insurance on your Mare(s) since Running Arrow Farm's insurance does not cover non-owned (your) Mare(s).
Special Notice:
Timing for artificial insemination is critical with horses and close coordination between the supplier and recipient of semen. Additionally, procedures for A.I. with horses are very specific and must be followed closely to increase the mare's chances to become pregnant. The reader should review the information provided on A.I. provided by Shipped Semen and Select Breeders for further details on the A.I. issues.

Cooled and Frozen Equine Semen Information
Artificial Insemination of horses is considerably more tricky than A.I. with cattle. This is primarily due to a horse's heat cycles as well as semen processing and management techniques. Cooled semen especially has a very short "shelf life"; whereas nitrogen frozen semen can theoretically last indefinitely. Frozen semen is shipped via UPS Ground from Shamrock, TX. Cooled semen is shipped via FedEx Next Day from Altus, OK. (or other location). Frozen semen shipped in a Nitrogen Tank with 3 day return (UPS Charges roundtrip paid); Cooled semen shipped in a disposable one-way cooled container to the purchaser.
The following factors can affect the success of a mare's artificial insemmination:
* Quality of the Stallion's Semen
* Competence of the Employee collecting the semen
* Timing of the collection with mare's heat cycle
* Shipping company transporting the semen
* Health and ease of the mare getting pregnant
* Semen handing at the destination (and thaw techniques for frozen semen)
* Competence of the Veterinarian (or other professional) with A.I. Techniques
