RAF Dode's Mountain Man is not only Blue Mist's 1st born bull calf (3 heifers prior) but he isn't her usual roan pattern that she has thrown with her previous heifers. This youngster is out of our favorite cow family. (his grandam Ozark's Mist is an own daughter of the famous "Ozark Mountain Queen" who had over 70" of horn TTT in her hayday.)
Add to this the strong Butler bred line of "Windwalker's Dode" a son of the famous "Windwalker's FM50" and "Phenomenon" himself in this mix, and it will be very interesting to see how the result of this mating will perform.

"Meteor" has filled out into a good-looking bull calf with those flesh colored horn with a nice red base. By our solid black bull, "Jet Black Phantom," (Overwhelmer X Jet Black Wynonna) and out of our black and white cow "J.R. Quincy" (J.R. 8 Ball X J.R. Sequence). His dam is our medium-framed cow bred by Ron & Jo Jones. (1050 lbs. 53" Hip Height)
To date, he is showing the typical lateral horn growth of Phantom's sons for us. This is a mating that works!
Meteor is our 2nd best gaining bull calf at weaning time for the '07 calf crop.

"PURPLE SHADOW" IS OUR "BEST BRED" BULL CALF FOR 2007
"Purple Shadow" is by "Roundup's Texan" a 'Ken Kirkham Bred bull' and out of our "Sage's Shadow" who is a solid red very nice framed cow by the up and coming "Roundup's Purple Sage" bull. (Roundup's Texan has a full brother that won his class at the 2006 Longhorn Showcase) Texan with lateral horns had 55" TTT horn at the 2006 TLBAA Horn Showcase.
Roundup genetics are known to keep on growing... and is a proven horn cross with "THE SHADOW". His dam has nice upswept horns that are starting to roll and are predicted for the low 70's. "Purple Shadow" has "Roundup" top and bottom. His sire is a "ROUNDUP" son. Plus "Ken Kirkham's" "SLAM DUNK" cow who is a daugher of "J.R. GRAND SLAM"
His dam is a "Roundup's Purple Sage" daughter (Roundup granddaughter). His 2nd dam is a "THE SHADOW" daugher... Making this a powerhouse of famous top horned sires and quality horned dams on a pedigree for a complete package bull.
He is turning into an "all over Purple Roan" coloring darker at this age than he sire "Roundup's Texan" was. His red socks are now black!. "Purple Shadow" has great potential for horn, body, and color genetics! He is showing nice height for his age. Great Potential here! If we hadn't bought Rumble, we would keep him for our own breeding.
Purple is our best gaining '07 bull at weaning time with 1.99 WDA and he has very nice hip height to him also. He will mature into a very nice bull.
