We thought long and hard about how to 'best' bring in a son with the famous lineage of
"Hunt's Command Respect".
We feel that this Double-Bred Son will fully enhance our Roundup/Overwhelmer/Jet Jockey Genetics that we have built our cowherd with.
Red Magic 28's dam line has daughters of: Hunt's Command Respect, Roundup, Rawhide and Tabasco for high quality dam producing lines making for a 1-2 punch with both high quality Sires and Dams to fill out his pedigree.
We are seeing the laid back horn with a twist at the ends on Magic's calves. He is doing what he was bred to do. Passing on his lateral horn.

We were excited to see this solid black son of Roundup himself to hit the ground the day he calved. Rebel is part of Roundup's last natural calf crop.
As far as we or Ken Kirkham know, Rebel is the ONLY Known SOLID BLACK Son of Roundup.
Rebel's only full brother is a Blue Roan bull being used as a Registered Herd Sire in southern Texas for the past several years. Rebel's full sisters are in full production in the Longhorn Industry and are much prized by their owners.
Rebel will bring color correction (possible blue roans) and an proven outcross to the Roundup/Hunt's Command Respect Lineages we brought into our herd this past year while still keeping Roundup in the mix. Rebel was put into service for RAF in July 2009.

At coming 6 years of age, Spock is maturing very nicely. He is eye candy with his darker blue roan color and beautiful build. Back as a 23 month old bull, he placed Second in his class with 57.75" of total horn at the TLBAA Horn Showcase at John Justin Arena in Ft. Worth, TX. in November 2005. He is still maturing and his horn should have been close to 78" at maturity based on his yearling measurement. He loves digging in our deep sand and polishes off his horns much faster then he grows them. Because of his continual digging, he doesn't have the impressive rack he should have... but the "Owen McGill Genetics" in the top half of his pedigree and the "Ozark Mountain Queen" genectics are still there to be passed onto his offspring.
Spock's calves are high quality with nice colors and have been selling quickly! He is a son of: 'ROUNDUP'S PURPLE SAGE". He is double bred "Tabasco" with "Roundup" as a grandsire on topside and "Ozark Mountain Queen" as granddam on bottomside. We also own his dam, "Ozark's Mist", and she continues to produce high quality calves for us. (We are keeping all of her daughters now.)
Due to taking our next step in Senior Herd Sires we have brought in a suitable replacement for Spock. Due to this, we are now offering Spock for sale at private treaty as we are keeping several of his daughters in our herd to continue the Ozark Mountain Queen dam lineage. His daughters are valuable to us for taking our herd to our next step. So far we are seeing that his daughters have color, body and horns that do twist and roll over with time making for lovely curves which make such beautiful longhorns.

"Phantom" was the only "known" solid black son of Overwhelmer. He was half-brother to Zydeco, Emperor, Senator, and several other famous bulls. He was Ken Kirkham bred. Since we have owned him he has sired high-quality calves for us with excellent conformation, full-body, and with great horn and bone structure. Phantom's calves show a thickness of body at an early age which is what we needed for "our genetic base" to raise quality replacement heifers, but also calves that are suitable for the TxLonghornCoop Program.
Phantom was a well mannered stay at home bull that never failed to get his job done. Phantom had a very nice size to him without being an extreme bull. His offspring also inherit his calm laid back dispostion. (his last calf crop for RAF is in '09.)
The decision was made to replace Phantom with his own half brother "Rebel With A Cause" who is also a solid black color, is showing to have nice hip height, good manners, continues his dam's influcence in our herd, and is a son of "Roundup's" Last Natural Calf Crop .
